Laos’ National Assembly Calls for Boost in Renewable Energy Development
During the ninth ordinary session of the ninth legislature, lawmakers engaged in detailed discussions and issued strategic recommendations aimed at tackling critical challenges in the electricity industry. NA Vice President Sommad Pholsena explained at a Monday press briefing that these measures focus on fostering a self-sufficient and stable economy energized by affordable, sustainable power.
The parliament highlighted the urgent need to cut dependence on imported electricity by strengthening the national power infrastructure and increasing investments in renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and thermal power.
