(MENAFN) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan engaged in high-stakes discussions on Saturday with UN Alliance of Civilizations High Representative Miguel Angel Moratinos and Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani in Istanbul.

The pivotal meeting took place on the heels of the 51st Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Erdogan, who was joined by his Presidential Advisor on Foreign Policy and Security, Akif Cagatay Kilic, led the talks, focusing on critical regional issues and strengthening bilateral ties.

Erdogan also welcomed Prime Minister Al-Thani at the Lutfi Kirdar International Convention and Exhibition Center in Istanbul after the OIC session concluded.

Among those in attendance were Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, National Intelligence Organization (MIT) Director Ibrahim Kalin, and advisor Kilic. The discussions revolved around regional developments and deepening cooperation between the nations involved, with the summit serving as a key backdrop for their diplomatic exchanges.
