Brazil’s traffic accident kills five civilians

(MENAFN) At least five people were killed early Wednesday in a traffic accident on the BR-153 highway in Porangatu, located in Brazil’s central state of Goias, according to a preliminary report from the Federal Highway Police (PRF).

The crash occurred when a truck veered into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a bus transporting 25 students from the Federal University of Para.

Among the victims were the bus driver, three students, and the truck driver, all of whom died at the scene. Rescue operations continued into the morning.
