Throughout this Congress, Chair Ernst plans to recognize a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.

RED OAK, Iowa – U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Chair of the Senate Small Business Committee, today announced her Small Business of the Week: Top Notch Fireworks of Union County. Throughout the 119th Congress, Chair Ernst plans to recognize a small business in each of Iowa's 99 counties.

“Top Notch Fireworks has done a spark-tacular job providing safe and fun fireworks to Iowans,” said Chair Ernst. “Brandon and MaKenzi Vonk are dynamite at giving back to their community.”

Top Notch Fireworks has served Creston and the greater Southwest Iowa community for nearly a decade as the only family-owned and operated business offering both consumer grade retail and professional firework displays in the area. Founded by husband-and-wife duo Brandon and MaKenzi Vonk in 2017, Top Notch Fireworks has since earned a strong reputation for quality, safety, and expertise.

The Vonks view Top Notch Fireworks’ success as an opportunity to give back. The business regularly donates products and money to support local events and hosts the Wishes Fund which helps community members in need. Top Notch Fireworks has been voted a “Best of Southwest Iowa” business for the past three years. Brandon and MaKenzi credit their 10-person team and community for Top Notch Fireworks’ continued success.

Stay tuned as Chair Ernst continues to recognize outstanding Iowa small businesses with her Small Business of the Week award.
